Drawing the Line on Aggression
In the last Blog (Aggression At Work) we discussed the Benefits of good Aggression. As a continuation it is my responsibility to draw the line between Work Related Aggression and an Aggressive Nature.
Work Related Aggression is the aggression where in we keep ourselves warmed up inside. We are ready for the challenges throughout the day. Whatever we start doing we do it to complete . If we get stuck somewhere , we do not leave the work and complete it even though it is not required right now just for the sake of building knowledge and to be 1 step ahead when this work is required . We keep pushing ourselves and our teams further to better our previous results. Whenever we go inside the board room we go for win.
An Aggressive Nature , is a behavior which can be harmful physically and emotionally. It can be a verbal attack–insults, threats, sarcasm, or attributing nasty motives to them–or a physical punishment or restriction. Aggression can be generated in us due to our Nurture or our Nature. During Nurture, if exposed to the same aggressive behaviors in the family ,friend circle or neighborhood , one starts reciprocating the same at later stages of his/her life.
Nature related Aggression can be due to one being Hostile to surroundings , procrastinations , stubbornness , sullen behavior , or deliberate or repeated failure to accomplish requested tasks for which one is responsible.

We simply cannot stop being Aggressive from the next day onwards. We also cannot stop our environment from funneling the aggression down to us . All we can do is to direct the aggression in the right direction . Do something you love when you start feeling aggressive . Try this for a few days. You will notice that whenever next you feel aggressive you will wish to do the same thing .
